Richard Becker, MD

Dr. Richard Becker  is a nationally recognized physician leader with over 35 years of experience managing a spectrum of health care organizations including complex academically based regional healthcare systems, for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare organizations, investor-owned healthcare companies, and physician practices that are often in need of new leadership to prepare for future challenges.

Dr. Becker is especially proud of his contributions to the COVID-19 pandemic response in New York State where, as deputy secretary of health and his leadership role across the full spectrum of healthcare policy development and implementation, he provided strategic and operational oversight during critical periods of the pandemic to help keep New York’s healthcare delivery system responsive, accessible and effective for all residents.

Most recently, Dr. Becker  joined Northwell Health, the largest healthcare system in New York State, as a senior executive in residence focused on system-wide integration of new acquisitions as well as other strategic initiatives.

Dr. Becker holds a BA from the University of Virginia College of Arts and Sciences, a MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and a MBA from The George Washington University School of Business. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. Richard and his wife, Dr. Rachel Becker, currently reside in New York City with their three children.
