Marty Hall

Marty Hall is a nationally recognized energy, climate, and environmental policy expert with extensive public and private sector experience. He has served in senior government positions in the White House and Congress, as well as being part of multiple presidential transition teams. His private sector experience includes holding executive positions for a Fortune 200 company and a premier business association for CEOs of America’s leading companies. He is currently a strategic consultant working with a variety of entities including businesses, non-profits, and technology startups. Hall sits on multiple energy related advisory boards and is outside senior policy fellow at Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions. He is a graduate of Northwestern University where he played football for the Wildcats. 

 

Prior to his current role, Hall worked in the office of the Speaker of the House, where he was chief strategic advisor to the chairman of the Elected Leadership Council. In an earlier Congress, Hall was staff director for the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and was chief strategic and policy lead for the House Republican Leadership Task Force on Energy, Climate, and Conservation.  

Hall spent over a decade in executive positions in the private sector, most recently as senior vice president and chief of staff for Business Roundtable (BRT), an association of chief executive officers of America’s leading companies. Before BRT, Hall was a vice president at FirstEnergy (FE), one of the nation’s largest investor-owned utilities. During his tenure at FE headquarters, he was executive leader of several groups including the environmental department; energy policy; advanced technologies group; and federal affairs. He spent a year special assignment leading the FirstEnergy-Allegheny Energy merger integration effort. 

Hall served in senior positions in both the White House and United States Senate before joining FE. A top energy and environmental advisor to President George W. Bush, he was chief of staff of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). Hall joined the White House following his role as deputy staff director and senior policy advisor for the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.  

Hall began his professional career in the private sector working for a joint venture, where he focused on merger and acquisitions.
